Quick update re: scary cupcakes

The first thing I asked as I collected my soon to be 5 year old was "how did the cupcakes go?"

And ...............
in Ethan's words .......... GREATY mum !!!

Phew - no tears from any kids, no screams of horror, in fact Ethan's teacher said they loved them and were pretty excited .
What more could a first time prep mother want, right ?

Off to bed now, the BIG DAY is tomorrow - my baby's going to be 5 years old - sigh!

Party Number 1

Well my eldest son, Ethan, turns 5 this Saturday and this year it seems as though I'm going to be on a cooking marathon weekend.
Tomorrow marks his first clebration with 30 cupcakes going to school tomorrow - one for each child in his class and also one for each teacher.

The request this year from my 'almost 5 year old' was - SCARY CUPCAKES !!!
Yes, that's right ... SCARY CUPCAKES.

This is from one little boy who asks that we keep the light on at night.
So, today I slaved away and made them. After decorating 26 of them and almost finishing, he mentioned to me that he didn't want a scary one or one with lollies on it - huh !!!!

You will see in the photo one lonely 'non scary cupcake' with a BIG E and a LITTLE e on it - this is what my 'almost 5 year old' son wanted for himself.

Now, I'm a little concerned that I may be branded as the irresponsible mother who scared all the little prep kids with her scary cupcakes. I'm concerned also that these may be the first cupcakes that never actually get eaten in the history of cupcakes and I'm concerned that I'll have little 5 year olds who begin crying any time I enter the classroom from here on in.

Oh well .... I'll keep you posted on the BIG DAY tomorrow.

Thanks for dropping by!

Crazy scanning !

Who knows what happened with my scanner tonight, but one side of the layout turned out to look purple and the other side black. This layout is definately all black, so I'm sorry if it's a little distracting.

Heaps of photos on this one and some crooked stitching too - aghhh!
Maybe I shouldn't have posted this one for you to look at.

Pamper la Prep - a layout about an hour of Pampering for all the mothers of the children that go to Ethan's school in their first prep year. I had a great time being pampered by Ethan and I love how seriously he took it.

adorable G&H

I was so happy to visit my cousin's new twin babies on the weekend - they are only 3 weeks old now and the four of us were unable to visit them in hospital when they were born due to all of us sick with the dreaded flu.

Anyway, here's a photo I took of Georgia and Hamish - oh, so adorable don't you think ?

No news ...

As they say 'no news is good news' right ?
Nothing exciting happening my way these last couple of days.
So often I seem to get hooked looking at the amazing sites on the internet but last night I managed to get a layout done also.

No ordinary day ... heaps of photos (which I'm right into lately) is about the day we spent as a family on our 17th wedding anniversary on the 5th May. I love all the products I used on the layout - American crafts - stickers , Kaiser Craft - rubon, Making Memories - scalloped trim and stickers also.

Hoping to get busy and create something else tonight - 2 layouts in 2 nights ... mmm ... now theres a challenge!

Unexpected!

Don't you love it when something unexpectedly nice happens to you ?

This afternoon I was driving over the Gateway Bridge and stopped to pay the $2.60 toll.

The teller said that the car in front of me had just paid for me also ... huh ? I didn't even know the person. I must have looked shocked so she proceeded to explain that 'this happens', people do this sometimes!

Wow - it was such a kind and unexpected gesture. I wanted to say thanks to the driver and when I finally almost caught up to him, he did a U turn and I saw his face. No, I didn't know him, he was just an ordinary young guy doing something to make someone feel like there are still some good people in this world. Really made me think I should do something unexpected to someone sometime soon.

Anyway, I have included a photo that I took on Sunday when I joined some photographers from http://www.ilovephotgraphy.com/ to do a shoot in Brisbane City. This is one of my favourite images.

Huge thanks for visiting !

I had 100 people visit my blog yesterday !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy moly!

Thanks to my dear friend Severine who spoke about my new blog yesterday on her blog. Go check out her layouts - she is one seriously talented 'clean' scrapper and one of my dearest scrapbooking friends. She lives in Switzerland. http://simply-s.blogspot.com/

Thanks also to Belinda - a newer scrapping friend and an Aussie girl with a great scrap style. It's lovely to see so many of her friend's dropping by also. http://www.belindasescape.blogspot.com/

And while I'm thanking people, huge thanks to my friend and workmate, Eliza, who has helped enormously in getting my blog together because I'm so hopeless at things like that. She has a cool blog site too with layouts of her gorgeous cat, Lucy. http://ketsu2006.spaces.live.com/

Anyway, I have a double layout to share - Under The Sea - one I created with heaps of photos from my niece's 5th birthday party. Always a little unsure with girly layouts - probably because I do so many boy ones!

Thanks again for dropping by!

Here goes again!

So, my first entry was no so crash hot. Didn't activate all the right buttons so comments could be left. After a bit of fiddling around, I'm hoping I have it right this time.

And maybe even a try posting a layout ... mmm ... I created this layout using American Crafts patterned paper and BAzzill scallop strips - love them both so much.

Fingers crossed I have it right now!

Here goes!

That's right. I'm finally posting my first real blog entry. Not like the previous entries that were layouts of mine every now and then without any words or thoughts from me, but a real post.

Hopefully, you'll drop by every now and then and encourage me to post again.

Hopefully, you'll enjoy what you see and read.

And hopefully, I won't bore you to tears.

I should post a recent layout .... that's what bloggers do right ?

So, here goes!

mmm ... can't work out why it won't upload a layout.

what about a photo then ?
I took this today of Ethan, my soon-to-be 5 year old son. He's a darling and I'm so fortunate to have such a wonderful little boy.
Thanks for dropping by on my first blog post and I hope you say hello.
